Good Reads for Parents

There are tons of great resources out there for parents trying to raise healthy teens. As I come across things worth sharing, I’ll try to add them here or to my blog.

And if you stumble across anything you think would be of use to our parent community, let me know and I’ll post a link.

-Website with some great tips for talking to kids about sex & puberty

-Another website with resources for parents of teens: Your Teen Mag for Parents

Some recent articles on there I feel worth sharing:

The New Double Standard for Teenage Boys

Teens, Parents, and Technology (great ideas to get the conversation started in your home)

And some great advice on bullying and the fear of retribution

-Some interesting articles from The Atlantic

Excellent read on the importance of failure, How Middle School Failures Lead to Medical School Success

Another great new article about bullying by Emily Bazelon, author of Sticks and Stones.

And for parents of the younger kids, an article about “The Touch Screen Generation” came out in April’s issue, and is definitely worth a read.
